What does it take to be a good mentor to women in the skilled trades?
Join the Office to Advance Women Apprentices (OAWA) for a one-day Mentoring Women in Trades (MWiT) training workshop designed to help journeypersons and supervisors better support the women they work with.
Through interactive activities, group discussions and videos, participants will explore the role of a mentor, recognize unconscious bias and microaggressions, understand bullying and harassment, and learn practical strategies for speaking up and navigating difficult conversations. Participants will leave with tools and knowledge they can put into practice to help create more supportive and inclusive workplaces.
Interested in bringing this training to your organization? This session is also open to HR professionals, managers and other decision makers who want to experience the training firsthand and see how it could benefit their supervisors, journeypersons and workplace culture.
Registration is $50 per person, with 100% of proceeds going directly to OAWA’s scholarship fund. Lunch and refreshments will be provided. Space is limited to 16 participants, so advance registration is required.
Come experience the training, explore what effective mentorship looks like, and discover how you can better support women in the trades.
