The Office to Advance Women Apprentices NL is proud to present the Ally in Action Award, recognizing individuals who mentor, advocate, and actively create opportunities for women in skilled trades. This award celebrates those who pave the way for a more inclusive and supportive trades environment.

Over the years, we have had the privilege of working with many dedicated allies who go above and beyond to advance women in trades. These individuals foster workplaces and learning environments that are accessible, welcoming, and equitable, inspiring women to pursue and succeed in careers in underrepresented skilled trades. By promoting mentorship, guidance, and encouragement, they help build pathways for women to thrive in the trades.

Who can be nominated?
Individuals in Newfoundland and Labrador who support apprenticeship programs and tradeswomen in underrepresented skilled trades. Examples include supervisors or mentors who have made a lasting impact, teachers or instructors who have guided women in their careers, or individuals within organizations who have gone above and beyond to help build opportunities for women in trades.

Who can nominate?
Tradeswomen, employers, and other stakeholders who can speak to the nominee’s impact in supporting and advancing women in skilled trades.
